Who are you guys, anyway?
Right-On Futon was opened in August of 1995 by a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago who saw a futon store as a great opportunity to have fun with retail and also use his art degree. The interior of the store is decorated with murals
and other fun and colorful works of art, and various creatures,
robots, and props from past window displays are hung
around the store. We are also very serious about providing our
customers with high quality merchandise in a range of prices and
styles in a fun, low-pressure environment. We try to treat our
customers like we would like to be treated--no pushiness, no pressure
to buy right away--just friendly, knowledgeable salespeople who
can help you find what you need.
Do you have a catalog?
Our website is actually the closest thing we have to a catalog.
We get our products from many different manufacturers and are
constantly adding new merchandise, so a fluid medium like the
web is much easier to keep up to date. If you have any questions
about something that you see on the site, or if there's something
that you're interested that's not pictured, please email us or
call us and we'll be happy to answer any questions.
Do you ship your products?
Currently we do not ship large items such as futon mattresses
or frames outside of the Chicagoland area. Most of these items
are too large for UPS, and to ship them via a freight company
would be prohibitively expensive. In addition, freight damage
is a concern when shipping only a small amount of merchandise.
Most importantly, however, is that buying furniture should be
a hands-on experience. We can describe a mattress to you in great
detail, but until you've actually sat on one, you won't know how
it actually feels; the same goes for seeing a cover or the finish
of a frame on line versus in person.
Where are the prices?
We don't sell over the internet, so
we try to encourage people to call or email us with questions
so that we can work directly with our customers to help them choose
the products that best suit their needs. We check email every
day, so if you'd like the price of a specific item, we can get
it to you very quickly.
Is there a warranty on your products?
Yes, all of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects
in materials and workmanship. The length of the warranty varies
according to manufacturer and does not include normal wear and
tear or misuse of the product.
What is your return policy?
By law futon mattresses are not returnable.
(They are covered by warranty to be replaced or repaired if there
are manufacturer's defects, however).
Stocked covers are exchangeable for store credit or other merchandise
within one week, if unused and in original packaging. Special
ordered covers are not returnable.
Frames are returnable for store credit or other merchandise within
one week if unused and unassembled. All original packaging must
be present. There is a 20% restocking fee.
